tarting to compile a list of spring chores. Many of us start to take care of our landscape in spring months, but spring is also a great season to give your home’s exterior a fresh coat of paint.
If you haven’t repainted your home in a few years, spring is the time to consider doing so for several reasons.
Take Advantage of Ideal Weather
The spring is relatively mild for the majority of the country, making it a great season to knock out some outdoor chores. With summer weather often being excruciatingly hot, it’s a great idea to take advantage of spring to get outdoor chores done while weather is tolerable. Consider repainting your home in the spring months when weather is ideal.
Guarantee Durable Finish
Most exterior latex paints will create a durable and protective finish around your home. However, fluctuating temperature can cause paint to lose some of its durability. If the paint dries too quickly on a hot summer day, the paint might not form an impermeable bond. Paint that dries too quickly is also liable to show brush strokes and clumps. If you paint the exterior of your home during mild weather, you might get a more durable and even finish.
Simplify Other Chores
If you’re planning on mulching or planting flowers this spring, consider painting your home’s exterior before you start working on the surrounding landscape. If you complete your gardening work first, all your hard work will be trampled when you start painting. By painting beforehand, your home will look fresh, making your other outdoor projects stand out even more.
