Using Pantone’s Fall 2016 Colors in Your Home

Pantone recently released their Fall 2016 Fashion Color Report and we at Richard Stewart Painting could not be more excited! A color palette that was inspired by feelings of tranquility and optimism, Pantone’s fall picks include calming blues and grays, warm earth tones and two exotic shades – yellow and purple. Regardless of your home’s style, there are plenty of ways to incorporate these colors into your décor this year.

If you are looking to make a change to your home without investing a ton of time, painting a few walls is the perfect solution. One of our favorite of Pantone’s Fall 2016 hues is Warm Taupe, a timeless neutral that would create a cozy feeling in your master bedroom or living room. This shade looks incredible with all of Pantone’s other picks, and we love the idea of painting an accent wall in Potter’s Clay, Spicy Mustard or Aurora Red to add a some extra interest your new taupe colored room.

Accent Décor

Pantone's Fall 2016 ColorsFrom vases to throw pillows, picture frames and chairs, there are lots of great ways to add a pop of color to your space and Pantone has given us some incredible color choices for individuals who want their home accessories to pop. One unexpectedly versatile option is Bodacious, a rich purple hue with a pink tint that will look incredible regardless of the season.

Another shade we love is Airy Blue. Similar in color to Serenity, one of Pantone’s color choices of the year, this bright blue is playful and vibrant. Not sure what to pair it with? Lush Meadow or Dusty Cedar is recommended if you are interested in turning heads, while Riverside and Sharkskin will blend well with Airy Blue to create a cool, calming tone.
